A PhD researcher from Monash University is researching how public libraries can better support neurodivergent children, especially those with autism and sensory needs, and their families.
As part of the study, they are conducting interviews with parents and caregivers to learn more about their experiences with libraries, the emotional and sensory barriers they may face, and how library programs could be made even more welcoming and inclusive.
The study is Victorian based and aims to complement and build on existing sector initiatives, including PLV’s current project with Aspect.
We would appreciate any assistance that libraries can give in sharing the flyer below with local families.
PLV will be kept updated on the outcome of the research.
