Libraries offer so much more than books. They are your gateway to digital services that bring music, movies, audiobooks, e-books and magazines into your home. They can also be playgroups, meeting rooms, online classrooms, art galleries, recording studios, social spaces and so much more. Information for authors

Victoria’s public library services frequently engage authors to give talks, participate in events, judge writing competitions and/or deliver writing workshops. Individual libraries make decisions to program authors based on what they believe will appeal to their communities, informed by factors such as data on library loans, requests from library patrons, and feedback on previous events. Program budgets will also be taken into account. Information for authors seeking paid work with libraries and/or to advertise their book(s) may be found here.

Volunteer

Many libraries throughout the state could benefit from having an extra set of hands to deliver their services to the community. Learn how you can volunteer at your local library.
