Sydney Writers’ Festival is Australia’s largest celebration of books and ideas, bringing the world’s finest authors and esteemed thinkers together for insightful and exhilarating conversations and discussions.
Sydney Writers’ Festival Live & Local program offers a free livestream of Festival sessions to libraries and community centres across regional Australia to share directly with their audiences.
We would love to have your venue as a streaming partner in 2026.
Sydney Writers’ Festival Live & Local program will stream live from Carriageworks, Sydney, from Thursday 21–Sunday 24 May 2026 and is provided to streaming partners free of charge. Partners have the option to stream the entire Live & Local program, or select dates, times and sessions at their discretion.

March 2026: Festival program announced
Tuesday 19 May 2026: Testing day
Thursday 21 May 2026: Streaming day
Friday 22 May 2026: Streaming day
Saturday 23 May 2026: Streaming day
Sunday 24 May 2026: Streaming day
Streaming days comprise of numerous 50-minute sessions that commence at 10am AEST. There is an hour interval between sessions.
