Window on Collections: the Rural & Regional Photography Commission is a poignant series of photographs that document the year that was 2020 in regional Victoria. Captured through a local lens, these images share moments of regional life and its challenges in this extraordinary time.

State Library Victoria, which has been exhibiting the photographs, is seeking EOIs from libraries that might be interested in displaying the images. SLV would loan the images to your library, touring them as a framed set. You would not need a gallery, just wall space—so they could be exhibited in the library itself. Freighting costs would need to be negotiated with SLV.

The areas involved in the photography project were:

  • Southwest Victoria – Lorne, Port Campbell, Apollo Bay, Colac.
  • East Gippsland – Wallagaraugh, Mallacoota, Lake Tyer, Nowa Nowa, Wiseleigh, Sarsfield, Sale, Clifton Creek.
  • Northern Vic – Wodonga, Thowgla, Pine Mountain, Cudgewa, Mount Hotham.

See here for further details.

If you are interested in hosting the exhibition, please contact Jade Hadfield at SLV by Mon 14 Feb 2022 (Library Lovers Day!).
