National Science Week is Australia’s annual celebration of science and technology, running August 15-23. This year, eleven Victorian public libraries will receive grant funding to deliver a range of exciting programs.
From polar exploration and science shows to nature discovery, gardening projects, escape rooms and LEGO-based STEAM activities, the funded projects will help people of all ages engage with science in fun, creative and accessible ways.
This year’s grant round attracted a strong field of applications, with libraries submitting high-quality proposals that showcased innovation and community engagement. While only eleven projects could be funded, all applicants should be commended for their enthusiasm and creativity.
The successful libraries are:

- Greater Dandenong Libraries – Australian Nature Around Us
- Wimmera Libraries – Seeds to Sprouts
- Clayton Library – Science Escape Room
- Goldfields Libraries – STEAM into Lego
