More information about Redress
- Redress is for people who experienced abuse and/or neglect as children in institutional settings in Victoria before 1990.
- Examples of institutional settings are orphanages and children’s homes, foster care and kinship care. A full list is available on the Redress for Historical Institutional Abuse webpage.
- People now have until 31 December 2026 to apply for Redress.
- People who apply and are found eligible will be offered a payment, counselling and a personal acknowledgement or apology.
