About the Role
We have an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced library professional to shape and enhance Darebin Libraries' collections, facilities and services. As a member of the Library Leadership Team, you will lead the Collections Team in the development and management of innovative print and digital collections, while also providing branch leadership and facility management for one to two library locations.
To do this you will:
• Lead, inspire and develop a high-performing team to deliver innovative, customer-focused collection services, including collection development for all age groups, interlibrary loans, home library services and local history collections.
• Provide branch leadership to support the consistent delivery of inclusive, accessible and responsive library services, ensuring safe and efficient operations, welcoming facilities, and strong communication and teamwork across the service.
• Drive innovation in collection management by leading the review, development and implementation of streamlined shelf-ready processes for the acquisition, cataloguing and management of print and digital collections.
• Manage and support staff performance through regular feedback, coaching and professional development opportunities, while addressing performance concerns and implementing improvement strategies where required.
• Contribute to frontline service delivery through rostered customer service shifts across Darebin Libraries branches, including one evening shift per week and a minimum of one Saturday and one Sunday shift every eight weeks.

• Will have the ability to lead projects from concept to completion, bringing people together to achieve successful outcomes and continuous improvement.
• Have a passion for customer service and can champion a customer-first culture, support staff development and ensure excellent service remains at the heart of decision making.
• Be a strong communicator and relationship builder, able to work collaboratively with colleagues, partners and stakeholders across a diverse organisation.
