Public Libraries Victoria is pleased to launch the new Programs, Marketing & Engagement Special Interest Group (SIG).
Developed following consultation with members and reflection on participation across existing groups, the new SIG brings together the former Marketing, Advocacy & Engagement SIG and Programs & Partnerships SIG. The decision to amalgamate the two groups reflects the growing overlap between programming, marketing, advocacy, partnership development and community engagement work across public libraries, and creates a single space for collaboration, knowledge sharing and professional development.
The Programs, Marketing & Engagement SIG will bring together public library professionals involved in designing, delivering, promoting and evaluating programs, services and community engagement initiatives. The group will explore topics such as community-led programming, marketing and communications, advocacy, partnership development, evaluation, accessibility and inclusion, while supporting collaboration on statewide initiatives and resource sharing across the sector.
The SIG is currently convened by Hannah Stevens (Frankston City Libraries), with support from Brendan Eichholzer (Maribyrnong Library Service) while additional convenors are recruited.
