The Historical Forced Adoption Redress Scheme provides redress to mothers who were forcibly separated from their babies before 1990. More information is available here: https://www.vic.gov.au/redress-forced-adoptions.
We are looking to promote the Scheme to women aged 50 and above. Digital copies of the promotional poster and brochure, and some newsletter/website content and are included below. Please distribute this information through your network of libraries and via your newsletter.
If libraries would like hard copies of the poster or brochure, please email forcedadoptionscomms@justice.vic.gov.au with the number of copies required and a postal address/contact name. We will then post the hard copies out.
Mothers apply to the Scheme via an application form (online or by post). We have a team of highly experienced support staff to help mothers with every step of this process and we have a dedicated phone line which is open every day for enquiries. We are simply looking to spread knowledge of the Scheme so that eligible mothers can received redress (including a financial payment and access to counselling or therapeutic services).
Thank you so much for your assistance.
