The Public Libraries Victoria Warm Winter Read working group is delighted to present the Warm Winter Read Evaluation Report.

The report synthesises the results of the staff survey, circulation and participation data, and feedback from the working group members themselves to capture the inaugural campaign’s achievements and outline recommendations for future campaigns.

The Warm Winter Read campaign was designed to encourage adult readers to develop a regular reading habit. It was initiated by the Reader Development Special Interest Group (SIG) and developed in collaboration with the Collections SIG and Libmark SIG.

The evaluation report demonstrates the value of the Warm Winter Read pilot project and provides practical strategies for further developing the campaign in 2023 and beyond.

Thank you to all library staff who contributed valuable insights for this report, consultant Jenny Ruffy who prepared the report, and Zach Jacobs for the design.

Comments, questions and/or feedback on the report are welcome and can be directed to Reader Development SIG co-convenor Natalie Mason [email protected] and/or PLV CEO Angela Savage [email protected]

Volunteers for the 2023 Warm Winter Read campaign are also warmly welcome to contact Natalie.
