About the Role

ABOUT THE ROLE:
An exciting opportunity has become available to join Merri-bek Libraries. This is a permanent full-time role working across our libraries based in Brunswick and Brunswick West.

The Library Technician (Collection Maintenance/Administration) role is responsible for providing high-quality customer service and targeted library and information services to our diverse community. This role includes digital literacy assistance and other library initiatives to bridge the digital divide, assistance with library events and activities, providing collection maintenance and assisting with acquisition of library materials, monitoring and facilitating meeting room bookings and shift supervision of library officers when the most senior staff member available.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE ROLE:
Good teamwork skills
Good communication, digital literacy and time management skills
Good supervisory skills
Excellence in service provision to all sections of the community
Ability to deal with difficult situations
Demonstrated experience in basic administration
Demonstrated understanding of Child safety and wellbeing requirements and how this applies in the public library setting.
Diploma of Library and Information Services (Library Technician) or equivalent relevant experience
A current Working with Children Check
