Library For All’s Our Yarning, is a collection of culturally relevant children’s books created by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Partnering with communities, the growing collection currently has over 150 books, reflecting the many and varied identities and lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, including people living in urban, rural and remote Australia. This collection of books gives First Nations children the opportunity to see their own experiences mirrored on the pages of the books, which are colourful, engaging learning resources. Just as importantly, the distinctive collection gives all Australian children the opportunity to engage with First Nations cultures.

Our Yarning books are available for all children and families to read and enjoy for free on the digital Our Yarning app! All books are also available to purchase at www.ouryarning.org.

This NAIDOC week why not read and enjoy ‘I am Proud”, celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture; authored, and illustrated by First Nations creatives.
