Australia is home to the oldest continuous culture in the world. The richness and diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander cultures is something to take pride in as a nation. We pay our respect to the elders of all the lands on which Victoria's public libraries are located. We recognise that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples are these lands' first story tellers and that there is so much more for us to learn from First Nations cultures. Every day is an opportunity to educate ourselves on being more culturally informed.
