Libraries Change Lives to come alive at Mardi Gras…
ALIA Rainbow has welcomed our request to join their float at the Mardi Gras Parade in Sydney on Saturday 25 February 2023.
This year, the event coincides with World Pride and the 45th anniversary of Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, so is sure to attract significant global media attention and over 200,000 attendees.
A limited number of spaces are available for Victorian public library staff to wear their rainbow Libraries Change Lives t-shirts and walk proudly down Oxford street alongside other proud LGBTIQA+ colleagues and allies. If there is significant interest, a blind ballot will be conducted to determine the lucky individuals. While there are no costs associated with participating, individuals will need to organize their own flights/accommodation and should seek approval from their manager/supervisor first.
…and Midsumma 2023
There is also intent for PLV to register a group to attend the Pride March at Midsumma Festival in Melbourne on Sunday 5 February 2023.
