Federal Minister for Social Services, the Hon Amanda Rishworth MP, recently announced the Good Things Foundation as recipients of a $700,000 grant to deliver a 12-month pilot program offering bi-lingual digital literacy training to migrant and refugee women. The funding builds on the success of previous projects targeted at some of the most digitally excluded cohorts in Australia, such as older people, and people with intellectual disability.

Outlining the program in more detail, Good Things Foundation CEO Jess Wilson said the Digital Sisters Program will provide expert skills in training and resourcing digital mentors all over the country. The program will be delivered in partnership with HOST International, an organisation that aims to make life better for migrants and refugees. They will provide the expertise, knowledge and insight needed to engage with diverse communities.

$20,000 grants will be offered to 20 organisations across the country to participate in the Digital Sisters co-design. Organisations already working with refugee and migrant populations are invited to apply.
