We have been fortunate to have strong on-campus enrolment interest in the Diploma of Library and Information Services for 2025, but this leaves us a little short on teaching coverage.

What we are looking for at Swinburne – passionate library people keen on sharing their knowledge and experience and who:

  • Are qualified to the Diploma of Library and Information Services level, or above,
  • Have, or may be able to negotiate, some daytime availability to teach library studies students on campus at Hawthorn on a sessional (casual) basis.
  • Hold a current TAE40116 or TAE40122 qualification in Training and Assessment.  We may also consider applications from people who have started the TAE40122 course and will complete it by the end of this year. Note that individuals may be eligible for free Tafe for this course and more information can be found here: https://www.vic.gov.au/free-

The role would best suit someone looking to combine a small amount of teaching with another role. Interested people are invited to contact me via email with any initial questions or an expression of interest to discuss, noting briefly their ability to match the above requirements, availability, and any areas of special subject interest. Currently we have between a half day and one and a half days available teaching, depending on subject match.

Please note that a formal application would be required as follow up and there is no guarantee of work from this EOI.

Current subjects being delivered for the course can be found here: https://www.swinburne.edu.au/course/tafe/diploma-of-library-and-information-services-bsb50520/
