Victorian public library staff needed to choose 2025 Dublin Literary Award Nomination

(please note information regarding the Award is confidential until officially announced by Dublin, including potential candidates and who is voting for whom)

We need Victorian public library staff to help choose Victoria’s nomination. State Library Victoria will submit the top title as voted by you from the list of titles that publishers have confirmed they will support for consideration. Voting is now open!

1: Read!

This is a tremendous collection of Victorian content/novels by Victorian authors to top up your reading list.

2: Vote!

To vote, select your preferred title at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2025DubLit by COB 5 July 2024. That’s about 94 days of reading to find your winner!

Choice should be based solely on the literary merit of the work. Please only vote once. Voting is open to Victorian public library staff and State Library Victoria staff.

We have 20 stories to choose from this year about emergency room chaos, famous art, future dystopias, fraught dating, terrible crimes and hidden secrets, time travel and riding horses really fast. (if your email only accepts plain text, please view this post on the PLV website to see the list of books).

Your nominee for the 2024 Award Day’s End by Garry Disher made it onto the Longlist. The shortlist was announced late March and while sadly Garry didn’t progress to this round, we were excited to see Waanyi-Australian title Praiseworthy by Alexis Wright (as nominated by our colleagues at the National Library of Australia) was shortlisted 😊 For more information visit https://dublinliteraryaward.ie
