Mondays 12.30pm-8pm ; Wednesdays 8.30am-5pm ; Fridays 8.30am-3pm and Saturdays 12pm-4pm
Plus minimum 1 in 8 Sundays

Band 5 $84K-$95K per annum pro rata + superannuation

About the Role

ABOUT THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity has come up to join Merri-bek Libraries. This is a new role that has been created and to be based at our Coburg Library.

The Customer Services and Communications Librarian position is responsible for providing high quality customer services to our diverse Merri-bek community, provide shift supervision on customer service shifts, collate the library e-newsletter, as well as design and support marketing and communications activities of Merri-bek Libraries including social media content.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE ROLE
* Tertiary qualifications in library and information services, professional writing and editing, or marketing/communications, and or through lesser formal qualifications with relevant work skills and experience.
* Knowledge and experience in writing, editing and proof-reading content for a variety of audiences and formats with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Demonstrated ability to resolve problems using creativity and originality when required and to defuse potential conflict.
* Ability to consistently lead, motivate and coach staff and to gain the cooperation and support of team members to achieve team goals and objectives.
* Good understanding of marketing and communications in a library context.
* Ability to design and deliver communication and promotion materials.
*Demonstrated understanding of Child safety and wellbeing requirements and how this applies in the library setting.
* A current Working with Children Check.
