ABC Shepparton published an article online about Goulburn Valley Libraries patrons making 16,000 paper cranes to send to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, as part of an annual commemoration of the children who died as a result of the atomic bombing of the city. Congratulations to Bronwyn Cole and the Goulburn Valley Libraries team on this powerful prorgram.

Along the way, the project has become about so much more than just folding coloured paper.

What started as a community arts project has highlighted the importance of libraries to their communities, and the role they play in modern-day societies.
