Public Libraries Victoria is hiring! We are seeking a dynamic, innovative, well-organised candidate for the role of Lead Shared Services, in light of Jacinta Cloney’s impending retirement. While we will miss Jacinta greatly, we are excited to welcome a new person to our small, dynamic and friendly team.

The Lead Shared Services role supports the Libraries Victoria consortium of 30 public library services, who share a common ILMS and collections. In addition, the role manages delivery of the statewide courier service for inter-library loans, and seeks to broker favourable statewide consortia arrangements for a variety of library resources. Other responsibilities include supporting the ePLV group and PLV’s Resource Sharing Network. The role contributes to the achievement of PLV’s strategic goals, with particular reference to Sustainable Business (Goal 3): to support and promote resource and opportunity sharing in our library members’ network to maximise value to communities.

The successful candidate will be experienced in the management, implementation and evaluation of library systems, preferably within a shared services environment. They will have experience in and understanding of the public library and/or local government operational environments. They will have high-level negotiation skills and experience in contract management. Their time management, organisational and planning skills will be exemplary; and their strong interpersonal skills will support partnership and relationship development.

The role is offered as a 0.8 FTE – 1.0 FTE option (negotiable), with a high level of flexibility. Public Libraries Victoria’s small team work remotely, meeting periodically in public libraries. Some travel within Victoria is required of the role.
