About the Role
The Operations Lead – Libraries is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the operational delivery of library services across the Mornington Peninsula Shire. The role fosters innovation, continuous improvement, and service excellence by reviewing and enhancing procedures, managing resources, and leading a high-performing team.
Reporting to the Team Leader – Libraries the core responsibilities include:
• Leading the review and enhancement of library operations, aligning procedures with corporate strategy, and ensuring services are efficient, innovative, and responsive to community needs.
• Building a high performing, engaged team through coaching, supervision, and development planning, while fostering a culture of collaboration, adaptability, and continuous improvement.
• Establishing strong, productive relationships with internal teams, external partners, and community organisations to support service delivery and drive public value.
• Successfully managing key initiatives, budgets, and contracts while identifying and mitigating risks, ensuring compliance, and maintaining a safe and inclusive environment for staff and customers.
About You
• Experience in managing customer-facing services and public facility operations.
• Highly developed communication skills.
• Experience in leading diverse teams, fostering professional growth, and building a high-performing, values-aligned culture.
• Strong capabilities in financial oversight, project management, service evaluation, and risk mitigation
