Library Customer Service and Program Support Technician

Permanent Part Time

Average of 19.25 hours per week (Monday morning, Thursday, Friday and every Second Saturday.

LIB4A $38.37 per hour plus 10% superannuation

About the Role

The Opportunity

Working as part of a small professional team, you will provide high quality customer service to residents within the community. As a motivated Library Technician, you will have a particular focus on delivering programs and services for children at adults as well as assisting in the delivery of high-quality service for residents.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, accurate, courteous and consistent customer services to all users of Council libraries;
Undertake library tasks including; placing reservations, joining new members, assisting with room, equipment and event bookings and more;
Assist customers in the use of equipment and technology, such as; computers, photocopiers, wireless internet access, library apps, eBooks and mobile devices;
Under the direction of the Children and Youth Services Team Leader, conduct story time sessions for babies, toddlers and pre-school children in the library.

Skills & Experience

Diploma of Library and Information Services acceptable for Library Technician membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA);
Demonstrated customer service experience and skills, with the ability to deliver library programs to young people and adult community members;
Well-developed IT skills, including an understanding of computer and mobile technologies and the online environment;
Sound verbal and written communication combined with time management skills with the ability to work as part of a team;
Current Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain.
