About the Role

Hume Libraries has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Childrens Librarian to join the Sunbury Library team. If you enjoy building relationships with families, communities, and educational organisations, coupled with a keen interest in children’s library programming, and a passion for promoting children’s literature this may be the role for you. This role is fulltime with a 9-day RDO and you will be expected to work Tuesday evenings until 8pm, 1 early morning start from 8am and 1 Saturday mornings in 4 roster cycle.

What you’ll be doing:

*To contribute to the provision of high-quality library services that meet the educational, recreational and information needs of the diverse Hume community by delivering accessible, relevant, and innovative resources and a high standard of customer service to the Hume community.

*To plan, develop, promote, and deliver library programs, library outreach, services, and activities for children, aged 0-12
Undertake regular direct library customer service duties including shift supervisor.

*Work as part of the team to provide high quality customer service for the Hume community.

*Work as part of the children’s programs team to plan and facilitate a range of programs across Hume Libraries.

*Actively collaborate with the Team Leader Collections to contribute to localised collection maintenance.

*Report any technology issues related to the branch to the Coordinator Library Collections and Technology.

*Facilitate early learning sessions, afterschool programs, school holiday activities and events, and other programs as required to promote and support early language and literacy development and STEAM learning.

Required Certifications & Qualifications:

Graduate Diploma in Information Management or equivalent, facilitating eligibility for professional membership of the Australian Library and Information Association and/or experience in children’s engagement and program facilitation.
