Youth Library Officer (Identified Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander position)

Permanent Part Time

35 hours per fortnight, Hours include an additional Saturday and Sunday shift in each 8-week cycle

Band 4 $69k plus super (pro rata)

About the Role

Collections, programs and services
– Consult with youth in Darebin and help design and deliver activities and programs to encourage young people in Darebin to visit our libraries, access information, borrow resources and join in a variety of programs and activities, with particular focus on young people aged 12 to 25, as well as upper-primary aged children and their families/carers.
– Provide excellent customer service and promote activities and programs on websites and social media to support the library as a place for reading, learning and community.
– Get involved in community outreach activities and events delivered in alternative locations across Darebin to encourage engagement with the library service.

Skills & Experience
– Experience in delivering activities and programs in a library, arts or community setting.
– Knowledge of physical and digital resources for upper primary aged children and youth.
– Experience in working in a customer facing role
– Experience with online environments including social media and devices such as tablets and smartphones.
– Excellent computer skills and knowledge, including knowledge of technology, equipment, procedures and practices used within an office environment.
