You are invited to this Vision Australia Library webinar for Victorian public library staff to help to understand and support your patrons who are blind, have low vision or are otherwise print disabled. Webinar attendees will hear about:
- What print disabilities are and how they affect people’s access to information.
- Practical measures that librarians can take to ensure their library is accessible.
- Low-cost accessible tools and technologies that public libraries can implement.
- How the Vision Australia Library provides people with free accessible materials and services.
- How librarians can refer patrons who are print-disabled to the Vision Australia Library.
- How libraries can partner with the Vision Australia Library to access their collection of over 70,000 accessible titles.
The session will be run by Vision Australia’s public library liaison officer, Tom Eason, who is legally blind and can therefore speak from personal experience about the importance of accessible libraries.
