Fiji Book Drive is a registered charity who send books to under-resourced schools and kindergartens in Fiji.

Nearly 250,000 books have been delivered to 194 schools and kindergartens since 2012.

These schools previously had either non-existent or poorly resourced libraries.

Education empowers students and communities. One of the keys to education is having the right resources. We believe there are more than enough educational resources in Australia and that these can be redirected out of landfill to Fiji, where many schools are under-resourced.

What can you do?

In terms of donations, we have received strong support from Victoria’s public libraries. We are again reaching out to these libraries and are hoping to more than match last year’s effort!

We are currently collecting deleted books from school and public libraries, ranging from basic ABC books to ‘Harry Potter’ level. We are also collecting readers and good quality kindergarten resources. Please see our donation guidelines on our website at www.fijibookdrive.org/donations

Donations may be delivered to Hinkler Books, 45-55 Fairchild St, Heatherton between the hours of 9am – 4.30pm weekdays.

Deadline to meet this year’s shipment is Friday 28 July.
